Bicycle South Central PA’s

Regional Bike Summit – “Success Stories”

Saturday, March 18, 2017   9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

HACC Harrisburg Campus/Public Safety Building

This summit is for anyone interested in making cycling safer and more popular in South Central Pennsylvania. This includes on and off-road riders, bike club members, bike shop representatives, bicycle advocates, municipal planners, tourism promoters, health advocates, and more. Don’t miss this opportunity to network with potential partners who are also interested in making your communities more bike friendly.

The BSCPA Summit will bring together people involved in all aspects of bicycling in order to explore ways we can work together to make bicycling safer and more popular.  We’ll be learning about how several local communities have been successful at building trails, bike lanes and other infrastructure so their success can be replicated in other communities. The summit features important local, state and national presenters including Roy Gothie, PennDOT’s Statewide Bike/Ped Coordinator.

Breakout sessions will be offered on three important topics:

·      Finding partners and funding for bicycle infrastructure improvements

·      The League of American Bicyclist’s Bicycle Friendly program that offers a blue print on how communities, businesses and universities can work toward making cycling safer and more common.

·      The progress of the BSCPA Bike Routes, which will connect communities across our region.

Of course there will also be opportunities to network with people running successful programs, share information about what’s happening in the region and demo new bikes. An optional 18 mile bike ride around the Capital Area Greenbelt will be offered at the end of the Summit.

Only $15 per person, which includes lunch.

The agenda and registration form can be found at
