For the past number of years, thanks to the dedication of Harrisburg Bicycle Cub members, the only bicycle time trial in South Central Pennsylvania was held on the three mile climb to the King’s Gap Environmental Center.  As part of the community service efforts of the Club, the proceeds of this annual event have been donated to the maintenance and upkeep of King’s Gap.

To successfully sponsor any event, the Club needs volunteer leadership.  King’s Gap is no exception. Past chair people have come through with superior leadership and the event has been fun and successful.

But new leadership has not come forward. Should the Club not have volunteers, especially an event chair person, this event will go into the “It used to be a club event” file; 2017 will see the end of the King’s Gap Time Trial sponsored by the Harrisburg Bicycle Club.

The Operations Committee of the Club has given until February 28 for a chair person to be named.  If no one has come forward, the committee will be forced to end the program.

If you are willing to chair this Harrisburg Bicycle Club event, enjoy a fun and competitive day at King’s Gap and benefit the King’s Gap Environmental Center, contact Howard Ross, HBC vice president, as soon as possible.
