Bicycle South Central PA. Bike Harrisburg, HBC and Recycle Bicycle will all be joining together to have a bike unit in the parade.  The theme is “ A Season of Giving” and each person is asked to decorate their bikes (and themselves) according to the theme.  We are focusing on the time-honored tradition of giving a bike as a holiday gift, so use ribbons, bells, bows, lights, and anything else you have to dress your bike up.  You can dress up as an elf, wear a Santa hat, etc., … the only restriction is that you cannot dress up as Santa Claus.  The only Santa allowed is the official one featured in the parade. This is a great public relations opportunity to show how much fun biking can be to over 10.000 people.   All kinds of bikes are welcome, especially classic and unusual bikes. Don’t have a bike?  Consider using one of the new Bike Share bikes!  Please contact Marilyn Chastek to sign up to participate.  This email address is being protected from spambots. The parade begins on City Island at noon, but you need to form up by 11:30 a.m. at the latest. If you want to park on City Island, you must be there before 10:00 a.m., but it is much less hassle to park elsewhere and ride your bike to City Island. Look for the Recycle Bicycle trailer or call or text Marilyn at 717-798-4537 for the exact location of our unit once you arrive. Normally we are on the south end of the island, but things change.
