Eight eager cyclists met at the 3B Ice Cream in Dauphin, PA for a 30 mile ride on Clarks Valley Road. The weather was sunny with only a slight breeze with temperatures in the 50s we had a beautiful day for a ride. The group was feeling good and the pace was at the top end of the announced speed of 13-14 mph averaging right at 14 mph. The interesting thing to me about riding Clarks Valley Rd outbound from Dauphin is you seem to be on a slight climb most of the way out - so you would expect the return to be all down hill. However, coming back while easier that going out still has some rollers to climb. Clarks Valley Road is a nice rural road offering a very reasonable climb and fairly low traffic volume and we had a great ride. Everyone returned safely and we all hope we get more days like this this winter. It was great seeing everyone. Thank you Al for sweeping and teaching me that the "Orange" road signs are temporary and might not be there the next time you ride a route.
