Saturday Morning D+ Ride. 17.4miles @ 10.6 mph
Richard Radwanski (L), Dave Serff, Jack Boger
Not a creature was stirring, not even a ........you know the rest. Except for three D Plus riders, Memorial Lake at the Middle Road area was really desolate. Understandable, with temps around 30 degrees and damp, overcast skies and snow predicted. Throughout the morning, the skies and temperature remained about the same, testing the cold weather clothing of our riders. During our ride, traffic was minimal, though we did pass several fellow bike riders on our route west on Rt443. We rode to the Manada Gap area, then south for a short break at East Hanover Township Park. The parking lot there had quite a few cars parked, with children and adults coming and going. We quickly figured out that the township had Breakfast With Santa scheduled this morning. We then headed east along familiar roadways past Penn National Race Track and Hollywood Casino. Though it didn't happen, we thought we might cross paths with the Saturday Morning C group, since their route covered several of the same roads we were using. We managed to make our way back to Memorial Lake and arrive just as the forecasted snow began falling. Refer to the below link for route details.
