Ride Name:          Koons To EHT Park To Rt. 443 to Ft. Hunter to Koons

Start Location:      Koons Park

Climb:                   1,310 ft.

Weather At Start:  36 degrees, partly sunny and calm

Wow, what a difference 2 days makes in the weather.  After recording our all-time 2nd longest streak of the temperatures staying below 32 degrees, the sun came out yesterday and did its job on the snowy shoulders.  And, today the temperatures rose to 39 degrees by the end of our ride.  This was the break that we were looking for.

Both Larry and Mark biked to Koons Park.  Dick showed up with his bike at Koons Park to ride but then unexpectedly needed to return home leaving us with 6 bikers.  We headed out towards the East Hanover Township Park via neighborhoods and a few country roads.  Then we made our way to Route 443 which took us to Fort Hunter.  We took a break at Fort Hunter where we admired the “locked up” Susquehanna River, a leftover from the frigid days going back to Christmas.  Then we headed back to Koons Park via Front Street and Route 39.  This was a safe ride with no issues with the minor exception of one dropped chain.
