The month of March has a reputation as being a windy month, and with good reason. A nice sized group of C and D Plus riders met at Memorial Lake on this beautiful, sunny, though a bit windy, morning. With the many recent weather related Saturday morning ride cancellation, everyone seemed ready to get some miles in and enjoy the day. Five D Plus riders headed off west on Rt443 and immediately encountered a brisk headwind from the north northwest that seemed to foretell the conditions for the remainder of the ride. We circled the Penn National/Hollywood Casino complex, then headed east toward our starting point. We ran into a street gang of large white geese blocking the road along a Homestead Rd. farm. They moved aside and let us pass without incident. None of the group wanted to cut the ride short at the 10 mile mark, so we continued south across Rt22. We did a clockwise circuit on School House Rd, Blacksbridge Rd, and Crooked Rd, then returned to the park via Harrison School Rd. Overall, it turned out to be a very enjoyable, non-eventful ride.
