Other Special Rides Ride. 52miles @ 11.5 mph

John Donoughe (L), Patty/Bill Baughman

John's Pack 2018 FT Day 2.  "Oh hill, Oh shift!" was the motto for today's route from Ronks to Newark Deleware.  Mt.  Pleasant Road was our first challenge.  We got religion and a well deserved break at the church at the top of the hill.  Another traditional stop was done at the cider press just east of Nickle Mines.  Joe Mushalko bought a gallon of cider that was enjoyed by the entirety of the tour riders.  What goes up must come down.  We stayed on the ridge for a while, but descended into the Steelville Valley.  What goes down must go up!
Another covered bridge over the Octorara Creek was our official photo op for Dick Norford.  Then we started the climb our of the valley to get to Cochranville for our well deserved bio-break.  The shopping plaza in Jennersville was our rest stop.  Our pack ate subs nd John got stung by an angry bee.  Norford also got stung by a bee that hitched a ride in the luggage vehicle.  Another bio-break in Kemblesville preceded another traditional stop at Milburn Orchards on Appleton Rd.  The ice cream we ate was just the ticket to get us to the Baymont Hotel in Newark.  This was a big improvement over the previous place.   Again a good safe day.
