Learning to Linger Email Ride Ride. 22miles @ 9 mph

Charley Sproule (L), George Haverstraw, Madeline Beitzel, Donie Kartorie, Jack Withers, Jack Withers (S).

On a cool breezy morning there were whitecaps on the Susquehanna as we left the Bainbridge parking lot to ride the North West Lancaster River TTrail (NWLRT) to Columbia and back.  Some of the wind gusts were over 20 mph but the temperatures were in the upper 50's.  The water level at Shank's Mill Bridge was only a foot or two below the level of the trail.  On our way back from the River Center in Columbia, we had a great lunch at Shank's Tavern in Marietta.  Two of our riders used e bikes.  It was great to ride in some fall weather for a change.  On our return trip an HBC ride group which Al was leading just was starting their ride.  The NWLRT is a wonderful and scenic paved trail through woods, fields, and along the river.  Give it a try.
