Silver Spokes Email Ride Ride. 31.4miles @ 13.6 mph

Mike Loomis (L), Lori Brulo, Bob Reynolds, Howard Davidson, Chris Ditlow, Al Brulo (S).

Six riders, seven eaters. We left Fort Hunter parking lot this morning with grey skies, a temperature of 39, but little if any wind. Heading east there was very little traffic, no mechanical issues. Howard and I got to talk of that wonderful moment went your kids, and their kids, pack up and head home leaving your house silent and looking like a tornado went through it! We stopped briefly at the bottom of Sleepy Hollow for a water break and adjustments. From there we single filed out to our right hand turn onto Manada Gap, left on Ridge Road, and then sailed down the hill to Funck's mini market. After snack and drink we headed back. We had smooth sailing the whole way back and pulled into the parking lot and there was Ed Pickering dressed for winter with no bike- he just came by to have lunch. Why not? So the we went up to the diner and ate. Chris rejoined the group after having run home to throw a couple logs into his furnace. I believe this was the first time Lori and Al joined the Spokes for lunch and they seemed to enjoy it. Just to show you that a grey day isn't necessarily a bad thing the story of Dick N. and the mysterious blond came up and so we retold that Twilight Zone moment to those who weren't on the tour. Thanks for coming out. Happy New Year!
