2017 Chocolate Tour

August 5, 2017

Join us for the Seventh Annual Chocolate Tour to support cancer research at Penn State University. There is something for everyone! Exciting events to choose from include The Mike Geltrude Foundation Chocolate Tour 5K or 10K Walk, The Chocolate Tour 5K or 10K Run/Race and The Briova Rx Chocolate Tour Cycling Events (10, 30, 50, 75 and 100 miles). With rest stops every mile, runners and walkers will enjoy local chocolate. Cyclists will enjoy rides through the beautiful countryside of central Pennsylvania with its Amish farms, wooded areas, and covered bridges while visiting areas surrounding the local historic chocolate towns of Hershey (home of Hershey’s chocolate factory), Elizabethtown (home of M&M/Mars chocolate factory), and Lititz (home of Wilbur Chocolate Company). Cyclists will taste local chocolate at the rest stops. All participants will be provided with a meal at the end of their event.

Registration and Packet Pick-up Friday, August 4th 4:00-6:00 p.m. (Check in for pre-registered participants ONLY)

Saturday, August 5th 6:30-8:45 a.m. (please register a minimum of one hour before your event)


Start Times (Rain or Shine)

8:00 a.m. The Briova Rx Cycling Events

9:00 a.m. The Chocolate Tour 5K or 10K Run and the Mike Geltrude 5K or 10K Walk

Award Ceremony for the Chocolate Tour 5K or 10K Run/Race directly following each run/race event.


The event starts at the Milton Hershey School Campus Athletic Complex, Henry Hershey Field, 665 Brook Drive, Hershey, PA 17033 (please visit for directions and more details).


Funds raised by the 2017 Chocolate Tour support cancer research to find the cure at Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute.

Helmets are required on HBC rides.  A trained Ride leader is obligated to collect waiver signatures prior to the ride to be an HBC Sanctioned Ride.
