Rolling Terrain and Challenging HillsRide Description:
The ride will include the rolling terrain and challenging hills of eastern Dauphin and western Lebanon counties. There will be infrequent stops and any that are necessary. Riders should be capable of sustained effort for two to three hours or more.
To ride, meet at the East Hanover Park at 8:00. The ride will be over rolling terrain to points east in Lebanon County. The pace target is 14 to 15 mph average. Forecast for Grantville (During Ride Time) - Partly Sunny, Temperatures 71 - 78F.
For those familiar with the old ride start location, we have been using a new one, not far from the burnt down diner. The parking lot is spacious at a more relaxed venue. Directions are at below.
From I81. Get off at Manada Exit (Hershey, Route 39). Go South from the exit. At the first light turn left onto Jonestown Road. Go about 2 miles and make a left onto Manada Gap Road. Go 150 feet or so and make a left into the Parking lot of East Hanover Park.
From Hershey. Proceed North on Rt 39. Crossover route 22. After a mile or so, make a right onto Jonestown Road. Go about 2 miles and turn left onto Manada Gap road. Go 150 feet or so and make a left into the Parking lot of East Hanover Park and Township Municipal Center.
From the location of the (now burnt down) Grantville Diner at the intersection of Rt 22 and Sandbeach Road. Go north on Sandbeach Road, about one half mile to Jonestown Road. Make a left. Go about an eighth mile. At Manada Gap Road, make a right.
