Ride Description:

Name:   Conewago Trail

Stats:     28 miles (730 ft.)

Speed:  11-13 mph

Start Location:  Conewago Trailhead at Route 230

Chris is doing an East Shore Flex Ride in Cumberland County on Friday afternoon but we are unable to do that ride.  So, Lori and I are riding the Conewago Trail at 1:00 PM which is not intended to conflict with Chris’ ride.  If you can’t make Chris’ ride, feel free to join us on this ride which is a little bit later, a little bit closer and on a packed stone trail.

At 1:00 PM we’ll be starting at the Conewago trailhead at Route 230.  We’ll be parking in the old Getty Mart parking lot right next to the trailhead.  The entire ride will be on the Conewago Trail.  We’ll simply head east 14 miles to Mount Gretna and then return to the start.  The surface is packed cinder in pretty good shape.  A hybrid or road bike with 28mm tires or larger would be appropriate.

Restroom facilities are available along the trail at miles 7, 9, 19 and 21.  We’ll take a short scheduled break near the half-way turnaround.  No one will be left behind.

For directions, you can enter “Route 230 and Industrial Road” in Google Maps and it'll get you there.

I'll cancel by 11:30 Friday via email in the event of poor riding weather.  But, the weather looks to be sunny, calm and warm around 46 degrees.

Saturday morning’s weather may be wet.  So if you are able, be sure to get out on Chris’ ride or this one.
