Ride Description:

Name:    Fort Hunter Loop

Stats:     Approx. 30 mi (Approx 1,200-1,300 ft)

Speed:   11-13 mph

Start Location:  East Hanover Community Park

At 9:00 AM we’ll be starting at the East Hanover Community Park where there is a portable bathroom.

Saturday will be a bit breezy with a NW wind.  Since it seems like most of our rides head east with the wind at our back and then west once the wind picks up later in the morning, we’ll reverse everything this time to take advantage of the wind as it picks up later in the morning.  From the start, we’ll head west to Fort Hunter winding our way through Linglestown before the winds begin to stiffen a bit later in the morning.  Then, we’ll head east on Route 443 (Fishing Creek Valley Road) once the wind picks up and pushes us back to our starting location.  This should be a welcome change to fighting a headwind on Route 443!

We’ll take a short scheduled break at Fort Hunter where bathrooms are also available.  I anticipate that we’ll finish pretty close to 12 mph.  No one will be left behind.

For directions, you can enter “East Hanover Community Park” in Google Maps and it'll get you there.  It’s located on the NW side of the intersection of Jonestown Road and Manada Gap Road.

The D+ group will be starting at the same location and time.

I'll cancel by 7:30 AM Saturday via email in the event of poor riding weather.
