Saturday Morning D+

Sat. 23 Sep, 2017 8:30 am - 8:30 am
Ride Description:

We'll start Saturday morning at 8:30am from Memorial Lake State Park, the Lower Road parking area. Restrooms are available at the park. Plan on riding from the park around Memorial Lake, west to Levitz Park, then back east on a few rural roads to our starting point at Memorial Lake. Distance for this circuit will be about 10 miles. We'll then do the same route over again, reversing some portions of the route, making for an approximate 20 mile ride total. If you tire or have to leave early, this ride will accommodate, as you can stop after the first circuit. Speed will be 9-11mph, depending on the group. No one gets dropped and we'll take breaks as necessary. If you have any questions or concerns, please call, 717-865-5707, or email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. Saturday Morning C

Sat. 23 Sep, 2017 8:30 am - 8:30 am
Ride Description:

Name:  Memorial Lake to Steelstown Loop

Stats:   26.6 miles with 1315 ft. climb

Speed:  11-13 mph

Start Location: Memorial Lake State Park, Lower Road Entrance, Grantville, PA

Let's meet this week at Memorial Lake, Lower Road Entrance, and plan to ride about 26.5 miles of rolling terrain at 11-13 mph.  Restrooms are available at the park for the start and finish, but nothing (other than wooded areas) during the ride.  This is a country ride on mostly rural roads.  There are two or three hills, but no one has had any difficulty with them in the past and we will regroup at the top.  We will take a snack/drink break at the church parking lot in Steelstown and any other breaks that are necessary.  We should be finished around 11:30-11:45 am.

The D Plus ride is starting at the same time from the same location for anyone looking for a little shorter/slower ride.

If the weather isn't suitable for cycling, I will send an email cancellation to those on the distribution list no later that 7:00 Saturday morning.  If the weather is questionable, check your emails, text or call me before you leave home.

Hope you can make it!
