New Bloomfield Halloween Parade 2025: A Winning Group!

The Harrisburg Bicycle Club has enjoyed bicycling the rural landscapes of Perry County and beyond for many years.  Recently, there has been an effort led by Ashley Lenig to promote and offer more rides in this area.  While several towns offer Halloween parades, New Bloomfield is the county seat and hosts a Saturday parade.  Therefore, it was chosen as the ride to participate in.  It was an easy event to join with no registration required.  HBC members and guests were invited and a group of fun-loving members carried the HBC banner with bicyclists riding behind.  Much like the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Harrisburg, we handed out informational materials featuring bicycle safety, our club information, and of course, candy.  It provided us a chance to interact with the locals and get our name out as we continue to have more of a presence around the county.  Those attending did a great job especially with only a week's notice.  The photo album and full report are linked below.  In addition to having a fun time on this short, long ride, we won second place in the Group category which was $30 in cash.  Participants enjoyed pizza afterwards and expressed interest in making this an annual event!  Thanks to everyone who assisted in making this first time event for the club a success!
