The Carlisle Climate Action Commission has developed a Climate Action Plan that was approved by Borough Council earlier this year. The Plan is still very much a work in progress, so the Commission's Community Engagement Team has been conducting a series of focus groups in order to obtain citizen input regarding various aspects of the plan. On Monday, October 17, we will convene a focus group composed of bicycle riders and people interested in nearby trails. We would like to hear from people who are trying to use bicycles not only for recreation, but for commuting, shopping, and running errands. What can we do to encourage alternative transportation and make Carlisle a more bicycle-friendly community? More hospitable streets? More bicycle racks? Different traffic rules or speed limits? This is a focus group tailor-made for HBC members! Bike and Trail Focus Group Date: Monday, October 17, 2022 Time: 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm Location: Carlisle PEEC (Professional and Educational Empowerment Center), 219 North Pitt Street, Carlisle. Plenty of parking (for cars and bikes) available. Carlisle Borough Council will be holding a town hall earlier that evening, but if you want an evening of civic engagement, you can meet with us, too. And we'll have pizza and drinks! The session will start with a short slide show, but most of our time together will consist of comments, questions, and discussions from and among the participants.
