This has been quite the roller coaster, with bridges out and route changes this year. Bike4Books is only two days away. We will start and end at Ickesburg Park in Ickesburg PA. From the intersection of Veteran’s Way (74) and Racoon Valley Rd (17) take Firehouse Lane beside the firehouse. Follow that back to the park pavilion. There is plenty of parking, shade, bathrooms, and loads of food and drinks. We hope you will enjoy the newly designed routes. They are newly designed to avoid the four bridges that are not passable on our traditional routes.

2-mile fun ride https://ridewithgps.com/routes/44595829

Lunch will be yummy nitrate-free ham sandwiches with ham from North Mountain Pastures (https://northmountainpastures.com/) and optional BBQ and other sauces, vegan GF chili, vegan GF bean salad, vegan pasta salad, snack foods and drinks. Rest stops will feature a variety of snacks, including whoopie pies. Ickesburg Park does not have potable water, so we have lots of bottled water. Rest stops have delicious Perry County water, as always.
Registration is still $35 this year- $20 for under age 10 or scouts.
After the ride we ask you to sign back in so that we know when everyone is back off the course. In addition, this year we have a very quick survey to find out how you liked this year’s course and venue, to help in our planning for next year, which will be Sat., Sept 28, 2024.
Given the quick registration cycle (up until near the end we weren’t sure we could still have the ride without the bridges) we expect to have many walk-in registrations. We are grateful for the riders who are sticking with us this year, and also for all the help from riders who wanted to see this year be a successful ride. We expect a beautiful autumn day- sunny and in the low 70s. We hope to see you!
