Weather forecast is for COLD so we will do some climbing to stay warm!!!! Meet at 9 AM at the Appalachian Trail crossing of PA 225, just north of Dauphin Borough. The Appalachian Trail parking lot is at the top of the hill, on the right. This will be a moderate 6-mile hike. We will car pool down to the US 322 Clark’s Ferry Bridge east side commuter parking lot for a moderate 6-mile hike up to the PA 325 parking lot. It will be a moderate climb up to the top of the ridge and the Clark’s Ferry Shelter. Lots of views of the river, below. From the shelter, easy ups and downs along the ridgetop to the cars. Optional post-hike lunch at the Stoney Creek Inn, in the Dauphin Borough. Bring warm clothes, water, lunch, snacks, and camera for a day out in the woods. Here we go off to a Wonderful new year. On the first Sunday of every month we offer a ride around The Greenbelt. With approximately 24 miles of trails. 1:00 PM at the trailhead behind City Line Diner on Derry St. Come prepared to ride the loop and the spurs, bring water and tools needed to repair the occasional flat. Learn about how this trail connects our neighborhoods, communities, and, most importantly, people. 717-460-4684

I hope you all enjoyed the holiday season. Winter is upon us and next week the forecast is for high temperatures around 30 degrees, too cold for most people to comfortably ride in. Let‘s meet at the Rolls Royce and Bentley Museum, 189 Hempt Road, Mechanicsburg at 10:30 a.m. Did you know that this is the largest Rolls-Royce and Bentley Museum and Research Center in America? We ride by this special museum all the time but never stop in to see the wonderful vehicles that are on display there. It is cold outside and the roads are slippery. So let‘s spin inside. Let’s spin at the new Jewish Community Center. Actually at the Symons Family Fitness Center located on the second floor of the Administration Building at 2986 North 2nd Street, Harrisburg. There is an underground parking garage, and the entrance is at the south end of the campus. See signs for Parking off 2nd Street near the cross walk. In the garage, opposite the drive-in entrance, is a buzzer/camera for entry. Buzz in and tell them you are coming for the fitness center, follow the path to the elevator, and go to the 2nd floor. We will gather there. There are lockers and showers and all sort of other exercise equipment (and other classes if you are interested). Arrival time – 10:15 AM If this is your first visit to the Harrisburg JCC Fitness area, they ask that you sign a waiver. If your insurance (Silver Sneakers, FitOn,etc.) covers fitness areas please bring that card. There is a drop-in charge of $10 per visit, if not covered otherwise. I have curated about an hour of excellent music - suitable for spinning, hill climbing, and just cruising along. It is based on a specific theme, to be revealed. Come (from the West Shore, from Hershey, and all over) and enjoy an indoor ride. Lunch afterwards at the Front Street Diner, at noon. If you simply want to join us for lunch, please let me know.
